Dr. Sheela V Mane

(MBBS, M.D, FICOG, FICMCH)

 Dr. Sheela V Mane is an eminent Gynecologist and Obstetrician from Bangalore with 35 plus years of expertise in this field. Born in Malegaon in Maharashtra, Dr. Sheela was truly inspired by her father who was a dedicated and well-known doctor.

Experience at a glance

Currently Dr. Sheela practices as a consultant at Anugraha Nursing Home and is an active member at Federation of Obstetric and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI), Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Indian Menopause Society (IMS), Association of Gynecologic Oncologists of India – AGOI. She is an MBBS Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, MD – Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fellow ship of Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FICOG).

As part of FOGSI, her ground-breaking  work towards spreading awareness and prevention of Primary Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) is phenomenol. She also has been part of numerous national and international level conferences. She was a faculty member at the FIGO conference in Rome and has delivered a lecture on “Preparedness in PPH” and also has been a part of simulation workshop on PPH.

Dr. Mane has served at Dr. B R Ambedkar Medical College from 1986 to 2005 in the capacity of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and HOD and DNB teacher at Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital (2005-2013).

 

Academic Background

She completed MBBS from IGMC Nagpur followed by an MD – Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1984 and Fellow ship of Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (FICOG) from Indian College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2012.

 

Awards and Accolades

She has received accolades like Best committee report presentation (Safe Motherhood Committee) at MCM at Agra in 2009, Best Committee Mehru Dara Hansotia Award for Safe Motherhood Committee (2010-2011) at Hyderabad AICOG and Best teacher award at Dr. B R Ambedkar Medical College, 2005. BSOG (Bangalore Society of Obstetrics & Gynaecology) received the Best Society Award – the Nadkarni rotating trophy during her tenure as Secretary in the year 2000.

Interests

Dr. Sheela is happily married to Dr. Dilip Kumar, who is an Orthopedic surgeon. She is the proud mother of two children. Her daughter is a Gynecologist and reproductive medicine specialist and son is an engineer and specialized in Industrial Systems, currently working at Rochester.
